This week, MediaMath CIO Tom Craig was selected for the ComputerWorld Premier 100 Award, which has recognized the top 100 IT leaders in business and technology each year since its inception in 2011. This year’s list includes senior leaders in large public companies, private companies in industries spanning financial, healthcare, technology, and consumer verticals as well as government agencies that have demonstrated an innovative use of transformative technology to solve business problems. The 100 honorees will be recognized at the AGENDA16 Conference , co-produced by CIO, ComputerWorld, and the CIO Executive Council, this March on Amelia Island in Florida.
“The Premier 100 awards program showcases the strategic thinking of an elite group of technology leaders who are using technology to digitally transform their organizations,” said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of Computerworld. “These dedicated executives are creating nimble IT organizations to respond quickly to today’s business needs, by leveraging the influx of technologies such as cloud computing, the Internet of Things, social media, mobile and wearables. The 2016 honorees are actively recruiting talented technology pros for their departments and grooming them to take on new roles. They’re also constantly adjusting their risk management strategies to align with the evolving security landscape.”
As one of MediaMath’s earliest employees, Tom has been instrumental in fulfilling the company’s vision of programmatic buying and driving explosive grown at MediaMath. Since Tom joined in 2007, the company has transformed from an early stage startup with 5 employees to a competitive mid-sized organization approaching 800 employees all around the globe. As the scale of operations grew from 10 billion transactions per day to over 140 billion, as did the demand for company resources. Tom ensured any IT restructuring would maintain MediaMath’s status as a rapidly growing progressive company that aligns the product, engineering and operational resources around large discrete components of the platform.
Today, Tom leads the Engineering, IT and Facilities teams at MediaMath. His organization builds and operates MediaMath’s TerminalOne Marketing Platform along with the nine data centers and network that support it. Tom actively manages his 200+ person organization, distributed globally throughout the US, UK and India.
Prior to joining MediaMath, Tom pioneered the Global Marketing Solutions organization at AOL responsible for multiple consumer marketing platforms, the Corporate Information Strategy, and AOL Data Product suite. Preceding his time at AOL, Tom spent 10 years in the telecommunications industry building consumer marketing and analytics platforms.
